APHIS will continue to announce the first case of HPAI in commercial and backyard flocks detected in a state but will not announce subsequent detections in those states and post these on this webpage.

DUNS number replaced by Unique Entity Identifier on April 4, 2022
Effective April 4, the federal government will stop using DUNS numbers as a unique identifier for entities, and a new identifier will be assigned in SAM.gov.This transition allows the government to streamline the entity identification and validation process, making it easier and less burdensome for entities to do business with the federal government. Biosecurity
USDA APHIS strongly advises all producers to heighten biosecurity. Vigilance in setting and maintaining advanced biosecurity protocols, with compliance by all employees and service providers, is key to disease prevention. National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP)
USDA APHIS requires auditable biosecurity plans for larger-sized operations to receive indemnity payments with biosecurity principles established by the National Poultry Improvement Plan.

Immediate reporting is critical to keep HPAI from spreading. If you suspect HPAI, immediately contact the USDA 24 hour hotline at 866-536-7593, your local or state veterinarian and your state association.
