Gregory Attends IEC Conference in London

UEP’s President Chad Gregory represented the U.S. egg industry at the International Egg Commission (IEC) Business Conference in London, April 8-10.   More than 300 delegates, from 30 countries, attended this annual business conference.

Sessions included pertinent updates on avian influenza, global industry statistics, sustainability, animal welfare and IEC’s collaboration with international organizations like the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Consumer Goods Forum, the World Health Organization (WHO) and other industry stakeholders.

The U.S. was well represented with experts providing industry updates and insights.  UEP’s Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee, Dr. Joy Mench, spoke on OIE’s Global Welfare Standards for Egg Laying HensUEP member, Lisa Beohm from the Henning Companies, presented Social Sustainability:  An Industry Case Study.    Dr. Travis Schaal, Hy-Line International, presented Biosecurity:  Creating a Global Standard. IEC’s next Global Conference will be September 9-13 in Kyoto, Japan.
