Some egg products eligible for CFAP payments

August 27, 2020

The USDA has determined that liquid and frozen eggs are eligible for payments under the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). CFAP compensates producers for price losses that occurred earlier in the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Payment rates are 7 cents per pound for liquid eggs, 8 cents for frozen eggs and limitations apply. USDA has provided conversion factors to be used if liquid eggs were sold in the shell, as in the case of a producer who sold breaking stock that was subsequently converted to liquid or frozen product.

A webinar conducted by the Farm Service Agency provides additional information. USDA recommends that producers who may be eligible for payment contact their county Farm Service Agency office. The deadline for applications is September 11. Click here for more information or call  877-508-8364.
