World Egg Day is October 9

Eggs, much more than the perfect protein” is the theme of World Egg Day, celebrated on October 9. The International Egg Commission is encouraging producers and allied industry members to help celebrate eggs within their organizations, communities and on social media and other channels.

The International Egg Nutrition Centre (IENC) has identified five reasons to eat eggs:

  • Eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet, and a fantastic source of protein
  • Eggs contain choline which aids healthy brain development
  • Eggs can reduce the risk of heart disease
  • Eating eggs can maintain good eye health
  • Eggs have benefits for all ages
