Festive Activities Planned for 50th Anniversary Celebration

September 20, 2018

UEP’s 50th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Conference in Maui is less than a month away!  The Grand Wailea Resort, untouched by Hurricane Lane, is ready to welcome over  500 UEP members and guests.

Get ready for some special activities planned as part of the celebration.  The festivities will begin with an authentic Hawaiian Luau on Tuesday, October 16.  A vibrant program transports guests on a cultural journey of the islands’ history and its people through song, dance and “talk story”: a truly authentic experience at the ocean’s edge. Dinner offerings feature Hawaiian dishes and local favorites.

Maui Tropical Plantation is a place steeped in history and the venue for lunch and sightseeing on Wednesday, October 17. The intersection between Maui’s past and future provide an alluring atmosphere for guests.   Nestled against the Waikapu Valley and greater West Maui Mountains, the views from the Plantation are stunning.   A tram tour of the grounds will be available, or guests can walk in the gardens or sit next to the lagoon.

The Awards Banquet on Thursday, October 18, will feature entertainment by Jimmy Mac and the Kool Kats with dancing, music, contests and fun crowd participation.

Dress will be island casual for all meetings and activities except the Awards Banquet, which will be cocktail attire.
