The FDA is asking food technology solution providers, public health advocates, entrepreneurs and innovators to develop traceability tools that are scalable and affordable in the announcement: FDA Launches Challenge to Spur Development of Affordable Traceability Tools as Part of Broader Food Safety Efforts.

UEP Staff and Consultants have been monitoring a Salmonella Braenderup outbreak in 10 European countries since first announced in early April. This week, the outbreak was linked to melons from Costa Rica, Honduras, and Brazil.
