U.S. EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers have proposed a new definition for waters that are subject to federal jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act, called Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS). The goal of the rule is to respect the Supreme Court's finding that there is a point beyond which water features are too remote from navigable waters to be considered WOTUS, and for the definition to be clear enough to allow the layperson to know with confidence whether a feature on their property is WOTUS.
UEP will be submitting comments on this rule, which are due on April 15. To help egg producers understand the proposed rule and help UEP gather feedback about it, UEP will be holding an online webinar about the proposal on Tuesday, March 19 at 11:30 am Eastern Time. Please reserve this date and time. The webinar details will be emailed to members in a few days.
