The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has proposed changes to National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) regulations that the agency says will update and clarify several provisions including “NPIP participation, voting requirements, testing procedures, and standards.” The proposal is open for a 30-day comment period.
Voting delegates to the 2016 NPIP Biennial Conference approved the changes that APHIS is now proposing to enshrine in regulation. The conference participants included industry representatives, state poultry agencies, veterinarians and interested parties.
