USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has announced a meeting, Low Pathogenicity Avian Influenza: A Discussion with Stakeholders. This will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Atlanta Airport Marriott. During the meeting, APHIS personnel will provide the rationale behind its Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza Indemnity and Compensation Policy and Controlled Marketing Policy.
Chad Gregory, UEP President, and Oscar Garrison, UEP SVP of Food Safety Regulatory Affairs, plan to attend and will present the challenges related to LPAI and controlled marketing associated with large layer farms. APHIS is seeking participation from all poultry sectors at this meeting in order to have a comprehensive discussion.
