Egg Industry Mourns Jack Heavenridge and Wally Newman

Ohio Poultry Association (OPA) Executive Vice President Jack Heavenridge passed away December 23, 2017,  in Waverly, Ohio at the age of 84.   As a recognized poultry industry leader, Jack served at OPA for 25 years and was a leader and a trailblazer, guiding Ohio’s egg producers through many challenges, regulatory changes and legislative initiatives.  Jack Heavenridge will be greatly missed and remembered in the egg industry.

Wallace “Wally" Newman died in Alpharetta, Georgia, on January 5, 2018 at the age of 92. Wally was known to the entire poultry industry.   From 1955 until 1980 he worked for Big Dutchman starting as the Salesman for New Jersey and eventually becoming Sales and Marketing Manager. From 1982 until 1995 Wally worked for Chore-Time as Sales and Marketing Manager of Chore-Time’s Egg Production division. During retirement he worked part time for Chore-Time and United Egg Producers.
